MIC2129 48-to-12 V power conversion reference design

A fully featured evaluation board & reference design for the Microchip MIC2129 DC-DC Step Down Controller with Selectable Gate Drive and Remote Sense. This 18 to 60 V input voltage design, outputs 12 V with a maximum current of 10 A. The design delivers high efficiency power conversion for e-mobility and Light Electric Vehicles, extending the battery life through the efficient power management and enhances operation safety. With built in protection features that mitigate any potential issues, the design uses the PSMN5R5-100YSF, a 100 V, 5.5 mOhm MOSET from the NextPower 80/100V family.

Key features & benefits

  • MOSFETs with a balance between RDS(on), Qg & Qrr can achieve high effiency for many different applications
  • PSMN5R5-100YSF delivers very low RDS(on),Vf and Qrr enabling higher efficiencies within DC/DC conversion at low and high current loads
  • Nexperia offers a growing range of dedicated NextPower 80/100V MOSFETs enabling higher efficient systems
